Get to Know the City

A city of small towns, each neighborhood has its own central street though some are small, you can rent a large riverfront condo or a charming apartment just around the corner from the local pub and all kinds of spaces in between.  Wherever life takes you, there's one constant here in Pittsburgh - affordability!  With a great quality of life and so much to see and explore, take your time and familiarize yourself with the surroundings and the various neighborhoods before committing to one place over the rest - you'll be glad you did.

Consider Your Commute

Public transit is available, but many people chose to drive. If you aren't interested in a long commute, consider an apartment close to where you work. Pittsburgh's also known for its harsh winters, which may be something to consider if you don't want to drive on its hills on a snowy day.

Don't Worry about Downtown

Home to a burgeoning arts scene and many great shops and eateries, living in the downtown has a lot of appeal.  However, with convenient access to so much, prices are considerably higher than in the surrounding neighborhoods.  If you're willing to make a short commute to work or class each day, consider places that are outside the core as a great way to have your money go a little further, even if it means you'll have to.

Good Luck

Enjoy your search here in Pittsburgh.  If you find yourself relaxing in the warm sun at a Pirates game or cheering Sidney Crosby and the Penguins to another Stanley Cup, know that you're in good company here in Pittsburgh.  Welcome! #ApartmentLove
